REDS Building Services Consultants were appointed to provide M & E and utility consultancy.

DESCRIPTION

A £25m brown field site retail development in Oldham comprising a 150,000ft² retail shell “on stilts” for Tesco, multi storey car park and 8 retail units fronting Huddersfield Road. The site clearance and road closures required substantial utility diversions and relocations to be procured in short timescales. Energy to the Tesco extra store is to be provided from a biodiesel driven CHP unit to satisfy the local authorities renewable energy planning policies. Works commenced on site in April 2008 and were completed on time and within budget in April 2009.
