Ocean Plaza, Rhyl
A £55m mixed use development on the sea front comprising an 80,000ft2 food store, 280 ocean fronting residential units, 26 retail units , 30,000 ft² office development, 40,000ft² leisure unit and 60 bed hotel. Significant modifications to the existing utility networks are required to facilitate the development, including a new 6MVA primary substation, relocation of existing secondary network substations, relocation of a 400 dia gas main and the diversion of a 300 dia water trunk main.
Whilst the enabling works for the development commenced on site in December 2007, several obstacles have prevented the scheme from progressing as planned. The project team continues to work hard with a view to recommencing work on site within 2012.
